I have a bachelor’s degree in Medical Biology in Université du Québec à Trois-Rivières, Québec, Canada and then a Master’s degree in Nuclear Medicine and Radiobiology in Université de Sherbrooke, Québec, Canada. During my studies, I worked with the first small animal PET with photodynamic therapy and validation of the animal model with estrogens receptors mammary tumor in the world. Following, I had the opportunity to work for a year as a Research Assistant in McConnell Brain Imaging Center, Montreal Neurological Institute, McGill University, where the development of a protocol for the small animal imaging and quantification imaging analysis have taken place. I am currently a PhD student in Biochemistry by UFRGS and I am interested in understanding the effects of anesthesia on 18-fluorodeoxyglucose (FDG) brain kinetics and regional distributions. Our study aims to improve this understanding by evaluating the role of glycemia and anesthetics (ketamine/xylazine, and isoflurane) during functional brain imaging.

I was born in a city of Chupaca, which is located in the center and highlands of Peru. It is the commercial center of the entire Peruvian central Andes area and is 3,249 meters above sea level. This is where I studied primary and secondary school, and then I moved to Montreal, Canada. I like traveling with my family, watching films and playing sports with my son. I also really like hockey, soccer, and Latin music.
